This blog is practically what's inside of my head. xxx

Permalink Went to watch this with my boyfriend for fun and curiousity. Being a non-twilight fan, tried to keep my mind open for this film.  I would say with an honest opinion, this movie is not horrible, but not that great. I guess its just entertaining for the “right crowd” which are particularly the fan of the Twilight Saga. If you’re an action fan or have no patience for romance, then the first hour will bore you. The first 1/2 hour is the wedding, the second is the honeymoon, the third is the pregnancy and the last 20 minutes is the birth, aftermath and setup for part 2. Lol i think that if you don’t care about these characters or aren’t a twilight fan, then you won’t care about the wedding at all. The wedding scene was quite long, took 45 minutes of the film including the honeymoon scene. The honeymoon scene was okay. Not to pornographic, just right and shot classy. I think that if u read the book, ull enjoy this. But if not, ull probbly think its tooo draggy and quite a bore.
Effects and cinematography were pleasingly great. The actors are so-so.
Kristen Stewart is much better than she is in New Moon, with much less of the moping and dead pauses, but some of her line delivery is still awkward and her facial expressions for my tastes are lifeless. It doesn’t help though that Bella is a rather dull character.Robert Pattinson has more to do than he did in New Moon and is less hammy than in the first film.
Taylor Lautner on the other hand is getting worse and worse. Lol sorry for hatin. He is a hunky hottie for sure, but does that alone make you a good actor? Not to me. Sorry Team jacob.
Honestly speaking. This movie was made to cater to little 12 year old girls that want to swoon over Edward and Jacob or fangirls who thrive for overly cheesy romance. Overall i would rate this film 6 out of 10. Also, let’s give credits to the wedding dress Bella wore. The back of it looked great. HAHA
Permalink Batch 81: Alpha Kappa Omega (1982) aka A.K.O.
Batch ‘81 examines the lives of seven neophytes as they strive to enter a Greek letter fraternity through a difficult hazing process. The entire experience is seen through the eyes of Sid Lucero, one of the neophytes.
A Mike De Leon masterpiece! A metaphor for life at the time of distress and political turmoil, also known as The Marcos Era. Dressed as a brutal and violent story of youths and never ending struggle to belong. This goes deeper than you think…
Lights and shadows. Batch ‘81 is a brave film that dwells in the life of a fraternity brother. Suffering and pain are rewarded with trust and loyalty. How far would you go? The camaraderie was excellent and genuine, everybody contributed excellently.
Mark Gil in his greatest role ever, as the leader of the young neophytes! I want a badass ‘stache. And funny man Noel Trinidad still cracks me up. Rich boy, poor boy are the same to the wrath of Hazing.
The paddle, torture and psychological tactics are used to create trust, with the promise of brotherhood at the end. This film embodies so much truth. Presented in such an entertaining way, including a musical number to be remembered forever. And this film has a shock element to it as well. The hacking and stabbing gang-war at the end was glorious.
Explicitly good! “Yan ang Kapatiran.”

BREAKING DAWN HYSTERIA

OK so its 1am and I cant believe Im still awake. You know why? YOU KNOW WHYYY??

Breaking Dawn.

I cant believe Ive surfed reviews and watched trailers of it for 2 hrs now.

I CANT EVEN… -_______________-

Im intrugued. Im not even a fan of twilight. Haven’t read the books and I’ve only watched  2 of the films. Somehow, all of the cinemas are fully boooked. And I was like NO SHIT the fuck ur kidding. o_O Wth, the world has gone mad with twilight. Im not a much big of a hater so I googled it a couple of hours just to get why people are so into it. All I got is that Bela finally turned to a vampire and that they(Bela and Edward) already had sex.

To clear my overly disquisitive head, Ill watch it tmorrow with an open mind and no judgements.

Wish me luck. Keepin my fingers crossed that its not just some  overly cheesy cliched vampire rip off film. Hope its worth my money and time. God, talk about mainstream films. Im getting sucked in. -_-

Movie Review: SUSPIRIA by Dario Argento

“Suspiria”, has been acclaimed as director Dario Argento’s masterpiece. Known as “the most surreally terrifying screen experiencing of the 1970s”, Suspiria is one of the most beautiful, dream-like horror films ever conceived that reached the crowning achievement of director Dario Argento.

American ballet student Susy Banyon (Jessica Harper) travels to Germany to attend an exclusive ballet school. Once there, she discovers that there is more going on within than just dance instruction.

Dario Argent  is probobly the most influential contemporary European horror film director. Nearly all of his movies are considered cult films by genre fans. He is also considered known to be an “Italian Hitchcock” based on all of his film masterpieces. His films almost always have fantastic, explosive endings which finishes off with a bang. He is one of the few directors who can create genuine fear in his viewers with his mixture of filming techniques which help to build up the tension until it is absolutely unbearable.

Dario Argentos’s Suspiria starts of with  Susy Banyon arriving to Germany with th hope of pursuing a professional education for ballet, not knowing that fate awaiting her in that school is full of mysterious deaths and dissappearance. The first 20 minutes, Dario Argento already built up suspense and tension that was normally reserved for the climax of a film. The bizarre and upheaving introducion of Susperia was just the beginning of the gore, terror, and intensity of what the film is yet to come.

Susperia captured the films most horrifying use of color to date. What sets Dario Argento apart from many of his contemporaries is his success with visual imagery. In a style where sudden visual shocks are used to thrill the audience,  Argento’s direction adds a lot of atmosphere to the movie, particularly in the way he uses lights and color. There’s a genuinely creepy mood through the whole film that doesn’t let up.The settings is truly bizarre and done in eye-popping color. They’re complimented by the excellent use of color and lighting. Also the group Goblin contributes to it a downright terrifying and loud and eerie score which really starts to work on the audience. Thunder and lightning, flamboyant colors, an awesome set-design plus the strong and pounding score make this one of the finest works of Dario Argento. An overall psychedelic experience that will stay with you for the rest of your movie-life.

Not much of a story here, but that’s really not the main thing. Style and atmosphere is the main course here, and it’s execution is completely flawless. The surreal and sometimes day-dreamy quality of the film seems like you are watching someone’s nightmare on your television. The murder scenes are very graphic  aswell. Argento creates elaborate deaths which cannot be quickly forgotten

Besides the stunning cinematography and outstanding art direction, the cast was also suberb. Jessica Harper (Suzy) was brilliant as the lead displaying strengh and vulnerability that made her outstanding, Stephani Casini (Sara) did fine as the lovable “friend”. Joan Bennet’s (Madame Blanc) classy and somewhat cold presence gave the part the right type of feel. A young Udo Kier (Dr. Mandel) did OK with his small role. Alida Valli (Miss Tanner) gave a chilling performance.

Susperia by Dario Alberto is one horror classic that one shouldn’t dare miss!
